Supporting a Burnt-Out Teen
When a neurodivergent young person is exhausted, overwhelmed or running on empty, the last thing they need is one more thing to do. The Squiggle Box is a soft, low-pressure space that asks nothing of them at all.
A monthly letterbox of therapeutic arts experiences, sensory support and gentle invitations — to be explored entirely at their own pace, including young people receiving EOTAS or alternative provision.
We Know You Just Want to Help
Watching your teenager struggle is hard. You want to offer something that helps — but you also worry that anything new could feel like more pressure, more expectation, one more thing they “should” be doing.
That worry makes complete sense. The Squiggle Box was made with it in mind. It is designed to be the opposite of pressure: something gentle that simply arrives, sits nearby, and waits to be picked up if and when your young person feels ready.
A Gentle Invitation, Never a Demand
Low-demand by design. Everything about the box is built to be easy to say yes to — and just as easy to leave for another day.
At Their Own Pace
There is no schedule and nothing to keep up with. The box can be opened today, next week, or whenever it feels right, and that's completely okay.
A Quiet Invitation
Everything inside is an offer, never a task. Your teen can dip in for two minutes or sit with it for an afternoon. Both are exactly enough.
No Right Way to Do It
There is nothing to finish, get right, or show anyone. Mess, half-made things and quiet days are all welcome here.
delivered with care
What Arrives Through the Letterbox
Each month brings a small bundle of creative and comforting things, curated by a qualified therapist who understands neurodivergent experience.
Therapeutic Arts Experiences
Gentle, accessible creative materials chosen by a qualified therapist, simple ways to make, doodle and express without any pressure to be "good at art".
Sensory Support
Tactile tools, fidgets and comforting objects that can help a tired nervous system feel a little more settled and a little more at home.
Gentle Invitations
Soft prompts and ideas your teen can choose to explore, or quietly ignore. They are doorways, never demands.
EOTAS & Alternative Provision
Many of the young people who love The Squiggle Box are not in mainstream school. It can sit happily alongside EOTAS packages, alternative provision and home-based days as a calm, creative thread that belongs entirely to them.
There is no curriculum and nothing to evidence — just gentle materials to enjoy whenever the day allows.
Honest About What This Is
We won't make promises about outcomes, and we'd be cautious of anyone who does. The Squiggle Box is not a treatment or a fix.
It is simply a thoughtful, therapist-curated offering of creativity and comfort — a small kindness that says, “there's no rush, and you are okay exactly as you are.”

The Squiggle Box lives inside The Squiggle Society
The Squiggle Society is the wider philosophy and community: a place that believes neurodivergent people deserve gentleness, creativity and support, without pressure or perfection.
The Squiggle Box is the monthly therapeutic arts experience that brings that philosophy to life, one gentle invitation through the letterbox at a time.
